1. Pigeon Mountain

Distance: 7.7k to summit
Elevation gain: 990 m

This is the first of my 60 for 60 hikes. Herm and I enjoyed a full day hiking up and taking pictures of 43 different flowers.

This mountain is just east of Deadman’s flats. It was cold and windy on top, with a little snow left in some hollows but we were comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the day.

We could see Lac des Arcs and the Bow River looking towards Calgary.
I couldn't resist a little down hill skiing practise.

The most impressive flowers were the forget-me-nots

which covered the long hill we slogged up.

What a great start to our hikes.
